Please see below for current job openings.PrincipalSt. Gregory the Great High School (SGHS), celebrating 73 years of Catholic education on the northside of Chicago, IL, is seeking qualified persons for the position of Principal beginning July 1, 2010. Founded in 1937, SGHS is a historically small, co-educational, innovative high school that now serves a diverse student population from across the city and across the globe. The mission of SGHS is to prepare faith-filled leaders for higher education and lifelong professional opportunity. To complement a focused, core curriculum, SGHS has successfully initiated a student work internship program, a community service immersion program, an English Language Learner (ELL) program, and a Learning Resource program for students overcoming academic challenges.The Principal provides Catholic educational leadership and ensures quality in the academic and student affairs programs. The Principal is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the school, for the growth and development of faculty, for the integration of faith and learning within the school and will oversee policy implementation. The candidate must hold a Masters degree (or higher) in Educational Leadership with courses related to Catholic schools, have teaching and administrative experience, and have or be eligible for state certification. Candidates should be able to share the mission of urban Catholic education, have a vision for the attainment of academic excellence through innovative instruction and curriculum design (including 21st Century Skills, and Problem Based Learning ‘PBL’), and have superior communication skills. The Principal will report to the school’s President, and work closely with numerous constituencies including but not limited to students, parents and guardians, the Board of Trustees, outside agencies, and others. Salary and benefits are commensurate with experience and based on the Archdiocese of Chicago guidelines.
