Curriculum
The curriculum at St. Gregory the Great High School:
  • Incorporates Catholic values

  • Offers students a challenging college preparatory program

  • Is current, relevant, and reflective of new educational research and ‘best practices’

  • Gives students the tools and transferable skills necessary to succeed in the 21st century

  • Is comprehensive and is suited for students of different learning abilities and career goals

  • Believes that learning is for everyone and that learning is life-long process

  • Helps students develop critical thinking skills so they can become productive, contributing members of society

Academic Cornerstones of the SGHS Curriculum:

  • Block Scheduling

  • Catholic Identity

  • Experiential Learning Programs

  • Customized Education Plan for Every Student

  • Homework Center

- Our unique internship program prepares students for career and college success through a career preparation course and internship opportunities in students' areas of interest.

- Our innovative service learning program matches every student with a service site for the entire school year. Once each month, the entire student body dedicates a full afternoon to serving the community at these designated sites.

Learning Resource Program

-The Learning Resource Program (LRP) provides supplementary academic instruction, tutoring, and skills that a student may need to succeed at SGHS and after graduation. It creates an educational environment that encourages positive attitudes toward learning, builds self-esteem, and promotes cooperative learning. In addition, LRP fosters a sense of personal responsibility, self-advocacy, and educational independence - all of which lead to lifelong intellectual growth and success.

LRP encourages student success in several areas:
